use.” By S. R. Ranganathan, who is known as
“Father of Library Science in India”, was
the first person one who identified the real
need of libraries and library science
education in our country.

After realizing the need and
importance in providing quality education
for prospective secondary school teachers,
St.Paul’s College of education was
established in 2004 by pali education
society.
“EDUCATION FOR EXCELLENCE” Is the
watch ward of 21st century.
“EXCEL OR EXIT” “PUBLISH OR PERISH” is the
order of the day.
In the back drop of the above quality
education depends on good infrastructure,
qualified, competent, dedicated teachers and
committed management etc.
Library and information centre is considered
as heart and soul of any institution.
Realizing the importance of the centre the
college has provided well equipped and
spacious library with a qualified librarian.
Library and information centre as required
facilities such as reprography computers
with internet facilities for the benefit of
staff and students.
The centre is kept open between 9:00AM to
5:30PM on all working days. Further keeping
in mind the problems of physically
challenged students the
Library is established in the ground floor
itself with ramp facility, separate seating
arrangement is being made for faculty
student-Teachers and physically Challenged
students.
EASYLIB SOFTWARE
The Library is fully computerized.
Software “EASYLIB’ has been developed by
Software developers, testers, advisors,
library professionals, data entry operators,
sales and support personnel. The company has
head quarters in Bangalore and
representative offices in Hubli and USA..
The book can be searched on the basis of
Title, Author, Table of contents etc.
Barcode Printing and scanning facility is
also available in the software. Apart from
books, this software has been designed to
manage newspapers, magazines, question
papers, syllabus etc..
The library as good collection of text
books, General books, Books and content,
Reference books, Encyclopedia, National and
International Journals, etc.. along with
Book bank facility for economically poor
students.
Library Activities

Oriontation on Library
Student-teachers will be Oriented with
regard to resources and service
facilities available in the library in
the beginning of the academic year every
year.

Display of books
Library is used as important medium for
knowledge extension. There are different
types of reading materials available in
the library. The New arrivals of Books
and Journals etc.. will be exhibited and
displayed on display board.

Book bank plan
Books will be issued for the poor and
needy students from the book bank and
they can use those books till the end of
the academic year.

News and Paper cuttings
Important news of the week is being read
in the assembly and the preserved in the
library for reference.

Celebrate National Library Week
National library week will be celebrated
in our college on 22nd Nov. Every year
as a mark of National observance day of
the library to promote library usage and
support.

repository. In this repository we have
recorded Knowledge of the organization with
using Easylib software. Basically in this
repository we have preserved all useful
information of our college.
